Standing Up for kids and Marketing Out of the Box

The Non Profit group StandUp for Kids operating in the Phoenix Metro Area of Arizona is using the economy to it’s advantage. While many people are out of work, or concerned about losing their job and thus cutting back on spending which has hurt Churches and Charities, StandUp for Kids out of Phoenix has altered their fundraising practices.
StandUp for Kids has gotten creative in how to raise money to support their outreach to homeless, runaway and at-risk kids. The organization’s Marketing Director has partnered with Basha’s Grocery Stores, which also owns AJ’s Fine Foods and Food City, to participate in the Shop and Give Program. Shoppers of Bashas, AJ’s Fine Foods and Food City who also have a Basha’s Thank You card simply provide the cashier the code “24345″ at time of checkout. This adds StandUp for Kids Phoenix to your Basha’s Thank You Card and then Basha’s, or AJ’s Fine Foods, or Food City whichever store you are shopping at then donates a portion of your bill to StandUp for Kids Phoenix. The organization is working on duplicating the effort with other grocery chains as well. Time will tell how much money is collected, but it is an easy way for people to support a worthy cause with no out of pocket costs.
Another fundraising event that is very exciting is a raffle drawing for a 2 person 2 night stay at the 5 diamond rated Wigwam Resort and Spa located in Litchfield Park Arizona. I give a lot of respect to the Wigwam Resort and Spa for donating the 2 night stay. This place is very successful and very luxurious with an authentic Arizona atmosphere. Red’s Steakhouse is also an incredible part of the Wigwam Resort and Spa. If you ever wondered what it would be like to eat a steak without the need for steak sauce, then you need to eat at Red’s Steakhouse. Wht makes this such a cretaive fundraiser is that it links StandUp for Kids with a very successful and well established brand – the Wigwam Resort and Spa – built close to 80 years ago.
Kudos to StandUp for Kids Phoenix!
